Spooky Cross ’22
October is here! Less than 2 weeks away and we’re getting the last little details all buttoned up. The course(s) are coming together for Saturday and Sunday. To stay true to our usual business, our courses will be different from Saturday to Sunday. They’ll have similarities’ to years past but ultimately we try to evolve the course(s) each year based on our feedback to create the best experience for our participants.

As September winds down and October quickly approaches, preparations are well under way for Spooky Cross. Back for 2022 is 2 days of racing! Although a little different format than previous years, we are transitioning back into 2 days of racing.
Saturday will be business as usual. Races starting at 10 AM with our Men’s Masters. After discussions following last season and feedback from our community we opted to change up our race day schedule. The notable change is moving our Men’s Cat 4/5 race from the start of the day to the end of the day. Our Men’s Masters will kick off our race day burning in those veteran lines for the rest of our participants throughout the day.
Of course, the Costume Race returns with another run at the coveted Spooky Trophy. We’ll likely shorten the course again this year with a couple laps as our format.
Sunday racing is brought back under a different format this year as we’ll run an unsanctioned A/B/C race format. The categories are broken down by time with the option to race all 3 races if one so chooses, although that would be a tough day with our course layout.

Spooky Cross is back for 2021!
Mark your calendars for October 30th! Same venue just south of the Altoona Campus in Altoona. Racing kicks off at 10 AM with the Men’s Cat 4/5. Our course will be similar to years past with a few changes here and there. Back again will be the free Costume Race up for the Spooky Trophy! We’ll also be bringing back a small kids course for your up and coming cross racers to try out.
Registration opens at 9 AM and closes 15 minutes prior to your race. Registration will be located just south of the Altoona Campus under the blue Zealous tent. We highly encourage pre-registration so please don’t wait. Online registration closes THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28TH at 6 PM.
